About Hedgestone
What
Hedgestone is a stress-tester for portfolios weighted toward tangible assets — physical gold, silver, and commodities, set against equities, crypto, and cash. It replays an allocation through real historical storms (2008, 2020, the 1970s, or any window you draw) and projects it forward with seeded Monte Carlo simulation. Results are framed in purchasing power — what your money can still buy — not just nominal return.
Why
Most backtesters treat gold as a ticker. Real ownership has costs the tickers never show: the dealer's spread on the way in and out, the vault's rent, the insurer's premium. Hedgestone models that physical-cost layer explicitly, and deflates everything by CPI, because a portfolio that "made money" while inflation ran hotter did not preserve anything. The numbers are estimates, clearly labeled, reproducible down to the random seed and dataset version.
How it treats your data
Simulations run in your browser. Your allocation never leaves your device unless you choose to save it or request a PDF report. There are no accounts, no third-party trackers, and no advertising pixels — only first-party counters of feature usage.
